Smarter dining

For fine dining in the Eixample district, Tragaluz is a solid option, though not cheap. You get what you pay for though, and the setting is very pleasant.

Fine dining at Tragaluz is pretty fine

By the same group as the crowd-pleasing Cuines Santa Catarina and Bar Lobo, Tragaluz should be a winne given it is the group’s flagship.

Certainly the space is right – with its opening roof that should be spectacular on a warm summer evening – and the food presentation is what you’d expect from a place seemingly looking for Michelin stars. (Oddly enough it doesn’t even get a mention in the red guide, which is somewhat strange in our opinion – some lesser places make the list).

If fine-dining is your schtick, you could do worse.
