Fundación MAPFRE Casa Garriga Nogués Exhibition Hall

Another privately-owned gallery – this one by insurance giant MAPFRE – in another lovely historic building conveniently located near the centre of town.

Fundación MAPFRE stages generally well-curated exhibitions at bargain-basement entrance prices – how does €3 per person sound? If that’s too expensive, entrance is free on Mondays between 2pm and 8pm!

Keep an eye on the website for what’s coming up.

Open: Mon 2:00pm – 8:00pm; Tues – Sat 10:00am – 8:00pm; Sun & holidays 11:00am – 7:00pm

CaixaForum

Housed in a fascinating modernista factory across the road from the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion, CaixaForum is now a gallery owned by La Caixa bank. CaixaForum offers touring exhibitions (some better curated than others), and entrance prices that are hard to resist – the better ones will set you back around €5. It’s an excellent almost-off-the-tourist-map choice.
